Micheal Neale (O'Neil) bought the island in December 1943 and soon after proclaimed himself Prince Michael. Prince Michael died in 1998 and has been succeeded by his son, Michael the Second. Visitors are welcome but are requested to leave by 16.30 when the family is in residence i.e. when the flag is flying.
